Topic: Reason why United States and England were figthing Nicaragua.

Objective: toknow the reasons why people  were fighting Nicaragua.

The geographical position of Nicaragua and the feasibility of an interoceanic navigation route through San juan river, Nicaragu lake, and which enables communication between the economicaly favorable route for commercial traffic.

when the United States wanted to gain control over Nicaragua, it founded the presence of England that had occupied that caribbean coast for years, including san Juan del Norte, which was on the route of the possible canal.

As a consequence of common interest and about to unleash a war between North America and England for control of Nicaragua, both powers decided to sign in 1850 a treaty, the Clay-Bulwer, by which the two countries divided the territory, without taking account of the Nicaragua Government or the other countries of Central America.

Activity: Answer the following questions about the topic:

1- what was the reason why England and United States were fighting for Nicaragua? explain.
