Topic: Growth and distribution of the Nicaraguan population.
Objective: To know how was the growth and distribution of the Nicaraguan population.
Currently in our country there are a total of six million, seventy-one thousand, forty-five (6,071,045) inhabitants, according to INIDE.
The population of our country has grown rapidly in the last years.
The majority of our population is made up of children and young people; thus, for example, half of Nicaraguans are under 18 years old.
The Nicaraguan population is unevenly distributed throught the national territory. for example, in the pacific area there are just over 100 inhabitants per square kilometer. As a consecuence of this, most of the Nicaraguan inhabitants the pacific rgion, Managua being one of the most populated cities.
This unequal distribution of the population results from urbanization, the climatic characteristics of each region and existing soil types. In the most remote areas where communication channels are lacking, basic services such as drinking water, electricity, telecommunications, among others. The population have had less development.
Activity: Read the text and answer the following question:
1- How is the Nicaraguan population made up?
2- Mention some of the projects that are necessary for the population.
