TOPIC: The elctions on February 1990.OBJECTIVE: To know how were the elections in Nicaragua on February 1990.
After living almost a decade of war, the conditions were given to carry out elections, according to the negotiations that a Central American presidents have had in the last three years.
The 1990 electoral process was used by the United States to group and finance political sectors that would lead the fight against the Nicaraguan government.
The United States financed the 14 parties that made up the National Opposition Union (UNO) head by Mrs Violeta Barrios de Chamorro and Virgilio Godoy, in the scrutiny of the votes in the elections of February 25, 1990 they were winners.
With the presidency of Mrs. Violeta Barrios widow of Chamorro, on April 1990, the achievements of the Sandinista Popular Revolution would be gradually dismatled.
