In 1927 It was agreed to create the National Guard to replace the occupation army that was in our country. Although this agreement , was not fulfilled, in 1930 efforts were made to organize it. In 1932  Anastasio Somoza Garcia was appointed chief Director of the National Guard and Juan Bautista Sacasa was elected president.

On January 1933, the American troops left our country, and the National Guard replaced the occupation troops in defense of imperialist interests.
On February 2,1933 Sandini signed a peace agreement with President Sacasa. In the agreement it was agreed to end the war, proceed to the partial disarmament of Sandino's men and promulgate total amnesty for all the guerrillas.
On February 21, 1934, Sandino was invited to eat dinner with Sacasa at the presidential house. On his return, the car in which he was traveling was stopped by a patrol of the National guard.
