TEMA: Economic, political and social characteristics of the Somocista military dictatorship.

OBJECTIVE. to know how were the characteristics of the somocista military dictatorship.

The national guard was strengthened, and Somoza with his relatives formed  a powerful economic, political and military.

In those years the people of the world were experiencing the consequences of the second world war.

Nicaragua became a supplier of raw materials such as rubber and cotton that the United States demanded for the war industry. Somoza adapted the economy to the needs of the United States, once again taking advantages of the country's situation to enrich itself through the control of taxes on Ilegal bussiness such as alcohol and prostitution, and also expropiated assets of Nicaraguan Citizens of German and Italian origin for your personal benefit.

With the murder of Sandino, his main officers, and the coup against President Juan Bautista, Somoza Garcia became the founder of a dinasty that was characterized by its corrupt, exploitative, and submissive character to American interests.

ACTIVITY. Answer the question about rhe topic:
