TOPIC: The somocista military dictatorship.

OBJECTIVE: to know how was the somocista military dictatorship.

Anastasio Somoza Garcia, was born on december 5,1925 in Leon. He was the third son of Anastasio Somoza Garcia, military chief of the army.

In 1936, Anastasio Somoza Garcia expelled Juan Bautista Sacasa through a military coup.

On January 1,1937, Anastasio Somoza Garcia was elected president of  Nicaragua, increasing his enrichment through the repression and exploitation of the people. For its part, the national guard becomes the personal army of the Somosa family.

Protest movements were lauched against the government, but those first attempts were destroyed by the dictatorship.
